The last and most important part of the Chocolate Dreams book design was the cover.
I really had no idea what I wanted it to look like, all I knew is that the book needed a cover, it needed to be bold and striking, the kind of thing you could recognise from across the street. It had to not just be a book cover but a logo, a symbol of chocolatiness, it had to feel messy and wonderful and inspiring, like chocolate itself.
It seemed like a challenge at first but I knew that I wanted the elephant on the cover and that the title was going to have to work around it. Like the font for the internal pages, I wanted the title to really have that untamed feel. In the end my organic approach prevailed and I got the pens out one last time, I created about one hundred cover templates and drew the title by hand on each one of them until I got one I liked. In the end I created a book I love and a cover that I am super proud of.
